Animal Writing Task 2
<
>
This week, I am going to give you a choice of two tasks for writing. The first task is narrative, which means it will be a story that you will write. The second task will be informational, which means that you will research an animal and give information about them.
Whichever you prefer is great! Different writers have different ideas and interests. If you are feeling REALLY motivated this week, you can definitely do both assignments! You will get 100 000 bonus points, and a virtual high-five!

Option 1 - Narrative Writing
Your first choice is to write a narrative story. This week, you are going to write the story about an animal that was a hero. This can be a true story of an animal that you read about this week, or it can be a completely made up story about an animal hero. Here's the catch though - this story needs to be written in the perspective of the animal that is a hero!
Here are a few pointers:
- Write your story in first-person (ie - 'I was swimming along with my pod when I saw...')
- Tell the whole story of what happened to make you a hero.
- Use vivid details - make your writing exciting by adding powerful adjectives.

Option 2 - Informational Writing
Your second choice of writing is to research an animal, and write an informational piece about them. You can choose to write or type it on paper, or present your information in a poster. Below is the information that I'd like you to include in your writing:
- Name of the animal - Where it is found in the world - Average lifespan - What its diet is - Who its enemies are (are they endangered?) - Social groupings (are they solitary, or do they live in groups?) - How they look after their babies Here are a few websites that you can use to conduct your research: https://kids.nationalgeographic.com/animals/ https://kids.sandiegozoo.org/animals https://animalfactguide.com/animal-facts/ |
