For each of the following pictures, answer these questions (you can write them down, or just discuss with another person):
1. 1. What is the first thing you notice?
2. Where in the world do you think this picture is taking place? (why do you think that?)
3. What colours do you see?
4. What do you suppose is happening in this picture (before, during, and after the picture was taken)?
Remember to check back each week for a new set of pictures!

Week 9 - Journal Prompts
1. "Why are your hands purple?"
"That is a very good question - let me explain"
2. The principal came into school wearing a T-Rex costume, and the day just got weirder from there. Tell me what happened in that very strange day.

Week 9 Art - Slideshow Name Tag
If you remember from previous slideshows, students make their own name tag to introduce their pictures. This week, I'd like you to take some time to make a name tag of your name, surrounded by things you love - the things that make you, YOU. I will post a few examples of these name tags down below. Please aim to have these done by Friday, June 5th. You can send them into me when you send in your five pictures, if your family hasn't done so already!
Here are a few examples from previous grade 5 students:

Week 9 Science
As I mentioned before, the last unit in grade 5 science is about wetland ecosystems. Wetlands are just areas that are saturated (or full of) water for some or all of the year. In Lethbridge, we have the Elizabeth Hall wetlands. This area is located near the golf course off of Bridge Drive. If you get a chance sometime this week, this month, or this summer, I strongly encourage you to go down there and take a look at how many organisms (bugs, animals, plants, etc), you can find. I will link a guide to all of the organisms that you can potentially find there. See how many you can spot!
